This is a wonderful alternative to the well-known classic. Slightly sweeter and fruitier than the original, it’s a great cocktail to sip on pool-side or as a pre-dinner aperitif. You can make the hibiscus syrup at home with local hibiscus flowers, and then combine with fresh orange and lime juice, French orange liqueur and premium reposado tequila.
1 ¾ oz premium reposado tequila
¾ oz Cointreau
¾ oz hibiscus syrup
1 0z freshly squeezed orange juice
Juice of half a lime
Shake all ingredients and strain over ice into an old fashioned glass. Garnish with an orange twist.
