The Friends of Golf Charity event at Belair Country Club in Los Angeles is in my opinion one of the premier Charity Golf events in USA  and on this occasion the attraction was doublefold with a chance to played the famed Belair course which recently underwent a 10M USD remodel and the fact Lorena Ochoa was this years honoree for FOG

Marcelo and I arrived Sunday to get in a round with a Member Andrew Macdonald a frequent Punta Mita guest – we loved the course – I had played the old course and found the new course amazing – Belair went up a few notches in my ranking of favorite courses played. 

The FOG event raises money to support Junior golfers in Los Angeles with financial needs and has been instrumental in the growth and success of many junior golf schools 

One of 2 2018 FOG Honorees Lorena Ochoa is a good friend and it was a real pleasure to be there and see her be honored – of all the Celebrities I have met over the years Lorena is by far my Number 1 !  in fact Lorena was the worlds #1 female golfer for 102 consecutive weeks. 
The other honoree was PGA player Patrick Cantlay who in 2018 made a great comeback after injury and is now ranked No 20 in the world. 

The Dinner and auction prior to Honoring the 2 honorees is held at the Clubhouse with over 300 guests. Lorena spoke inspiringly as she always does. The Q&A is always interesting and I said I must make the most of this opportunity having Lorena on stage a Mexican legend and think of a way to subtly promote Punta Mita. As the MC called last question I stood up and raised my hand – with a loud and strong voice posed the question – Lorena if you were to recommend 4 golf courses in Mexico to those present this evening which ones would they be ? Lorena replied – Definitely my choice would be Punta Mita with its 2 great courses and you could play with me or Carl as well – that was it !!!! The trip was paid 3 fold !!! Mil gracias Lorena !! 
Marcelo and I enjoyed our 24 hours in Belair and our Punta Mita Jackets are great !!!
