This was a special one indeed ¡! Sabine and I met at Les Roches in 1984 and graduated  from Les Roches so as one can imagine Bluche, Les Roches  Crans Montana hold many fond memories for both of us. To have one of our daughters in this case Chiara graduate from that very same place was highly emotional and a unique moment #adayinthelifeofahotelier. Les Roches apart from our meeting , framed our careers, marked me especially have been present in the school building the day it was burnt down in 1984, and many more special moments in life including being the Valedictorian of our year and many years later give a commencement speech.

The few days spent for the graduation were memorable – thanks to the Maachi’s we all had a lovely apartment to stay at with Anna Maachi  being a magnificent host to us all and a great cook ! I also got a chance to play the beautiful Crans Montana Golf Course home to the European Masters.Tatiana,  Mum, Tricia, Sabine, Dominique, Ellen Russell Jimmys wonderful daughter and Nuria joined us for the celebrations which begain with the Graduation Dinner in Montana – a fun affair despite the inclement weather. This celebration organized by the students was full of fun , great food, music, and dancing – all our party had a ball and this set the tone for the coming days.

During the day it would be golf or walks or catching up on sleep for the younger crowd. The following night was a cocktail dinner for Chiara’s Global Class ( Global because Chiara’s studies including 6months stints in Shanghai, Marbella as well as Bluche) in Crans which was a lot of fun and more intimate then the previous evening. Whats was special over these few days was the chance to get to know Chiara’s room & class mates – Caroline, Chris, Johan, Justin, Lucia, amongst others. Before we knew it graduation day itself came along with all that represents – Chiara graduated with Honors & Distinction which is a wonderful achievement something both Sabine & I are very proud of. Being there for the moment, sharing the tears, having Mum and friends close by made it all the more special.

A new chapter in Chiara’s life now begins and we and all those present wish her well. Of course before Chiara begins at Rolex in Mexico in Marketing & PR she will polish up her French in Brussells and take a trip down under including a visit to Tonga & Fiji! Break a leg Chiara!
