California Swing 2024

This marked our fourth annual California golf swing, traditionally held in mid-May. This year, unlike the last when both José Luis and I had to cut the tour short, we managed to complete all seven courses over five days, including two grueling 36-hole days. The lineup was particularly stellar: starting at the Olympic Lake Course, moving on to The California Club, and celebrating José Luis’s 65th birthday at the amazing Mayacama Golf Club . From there, we played at Spanish Bay, the unparalleled Cypress Point, Spyglass Hill, and concluded at Pebble Beach.

On this trip, the ladies joined us, playing three rounds and thoroughly enjoying the journey—Rosanna called it her «dream trip.» Unsurprisingly, the Martinezes clinched titles in both divisions. On a personal front, after three swings in the red, I finally turned a profit! Hugo as always is hard to beat – one day amigo !!!

Mayacama presented the most formidable challenge—its narrow fairways and demanding layout set it apart. While I could easily sing praises for each course, they all were spectacular, enhanced by fantastic weather and even better company. Congrats José Luis for enduring such a tough swing and the pain of a WD at Pebble !!! Now, José Luis  at 65 you’ve got some time to practice for the 2025 Swing!

Mauricio, we had some tight matches, ending up tied in Stableford points after seven rounds—truly remarkable. As tradition holds, Hugo and I added two new courses this year: The California Club and Mayacama. We’re already excited to see what’s next for 2025.

A special thanks to the ladies for joining us. We hope to see you again in 2025!
