From time to time one hears the misconception that luxury hotel general managers are to be found sitting back behind desks, somewhere out of sight, looking at figures. But here in Punta Mita I can gladly say this is clearly not the case.As a GM I try to welcome at least 50% of arriving guests, and spend each day moving around the resort ensuring I am very visible. Of course, part of the equation is is that as a GM one can only spend a lot of time on the floor having built a strong management team which permits one to be visible and spend time with guests. I am a big believer that a visible general manager out among the clientele adds so much to the luxury hospitality experience.
