Flo and I have just returned from Mayakoba, Mexico. Me on story assignments to feature the resort’s inaugural Food, Wine and Golf celebration. It was hot and humid, but a delightfully exotic stay with play on El Camaleon and tasting of a delicious culinary parade of creations from a star-studded lineup of international resident and guest chefs.

1st photo: Making desserts with Chef Maru Botana, Argentina. The celebrated television star and proprietor of five renowned pastry shops in Buenos Aires is a dynamic chef whose effervescent personality added to both preparation and presentation. Cooking with these and other masters leaves a lasting impression. Mayakoba’s cooking school, currently under construction, will be ready for the 2nd annual Food, Wine & Golf event 4/20-23 2017.

2nd photo: Flo in the kitchen at Mayakoba cooking classes/Thai recipes with Banyan Tree Chef Wayu “Light» Wattanakaminas, Saffron Restaurant.

3rd photo: Bill also cooked, but it was under the hot sun with 100% humidity while at play on El Cameleon during the two-day Mayakoba Cup tournament. The resort’s golf club, luxury hotels (Fairmont, Rosewood and Banyan Tree), restaurants, beach clubs, and spas are set amid and adjacent to expansive areas of protected jungles, beaches and mangrove swamp.
